Buildopsy is a static engineering publication. We do not require reader accounts. We do not currently run a first-party analytics service or operate a server-side database for the calculators.
Calculator inputs and browser storage
The engineering calculators perform their calculations in your browser. The calculator code does not send the values you enter to Buildopsy. A display-theme preference may be stored in your browser's local storage under the key pf-theme. You can clear it through your browser settings.
Third-party page resources
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and interface icons from the unpkg content delivery network. Those providers receive the technical information normally sent when a browser requests a resource, such as an IP address and browser request data. See the Google Privacy Policy for Google services. UNPKG describes its content delivery service.
Newsletter subscriptions
If you submit a newsletter form, your email address is sent to Buttondown to process the subscription and confirmation. Buttondown handles that information under its privacy policy. You can unsubscribe using the link in its emails. Do not submit confidential or sensitive information through a subscription form.
Contact requests
The contact page uses a Google Form and also provides an email link. Information you choose to include is sent to Google Forms or your email provider, not to a Buildopsy database. Review Google's privacy policy before submitting information through its form.
Advertising and cookies
As of October 1, 2026, AdSense advertising is not active on Buildopsy. If ads are enabled later, Google and participating advertising partners may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies and receive information such as IP address, browser details, page activity and ad interactions to deliver, personalize, measure and protect advertising. Google advertising cookies may be used to serve ads based on previous visits to this site or other sites. The policy will be updated if the advertising setup changes.
Google explains its privacy-policy disclosure requirements. You can review or change personalized advertising settings at Google Ads Settings. For users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, personalized ads require a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Consent choices will be presented before personalized advertising where required.
